February 17th 2000: FlightXPress, a German magazine for flight simulation, reviewed AS2 in its February/March issue 2000 (pages 8 to 14. Stefan Schäfer states in that review:

Translation of the review (translated by Simon Hradecky):
Bottom line: AS2 is a program for demanding people. It will mean nothing to the occasional pilot, who simply enjoys shooting "enemies" out of the skies. Those however who are seriously interested in aviation and its simulation, will not want to pass by AS2. While working procedures, the "flying" of the aircraft is so realistic and gripping, that the scenery, which may possibly look antiquated compared to other flight simulation packages, is not at all perceived as a shortcoming. And this sparse scenery also in addition has a very big advantage: an excellent system performance. You can use AS2 on a 486 without problems. You can about imagine how it will perform on a PIII. There is no stutter at all when you fly a curve, and this despite real time calculations of air flow and aircraft behaviour. I'd like to see anyone do better than AS2! In addition: the scenery at the SimuFlight Simulator in Dallas did not look much different either!

November 23rd 1999: Airliner World, a magacine for real world aviation, reviewed Airline Simulator 2 in its December issue (pages 72 and 73), stating amongst others:

the flight model is second to none

The review concludes:

With a few hours under my belt, I began to fully appreciate the potential of this package. Other sims may offer more impressive graphics, but given the chance, AS2 delivers a realistic experience and you won't be disappointed.
