Airline Simulator 2.12 Patch
(C) 2005 by NOMISSOFT GmbH
This patch brings AS2.02, 2.03, 2.04, 2.05, 2.06, 2.07, 2.08, 2.10 and 2.11 to AS2.12. We strongly recommend users of version 2.10 under Windows XP to upgrade to this version.
Following Improvements have been made:
- Wind Changes gradual even for surface winds. Surface winds adjust at about 30 knots/second, non-surface winds at about 1 knot/second
- Added AIRLINE.DRV, allowing random and planned emergencies, more weather effects as well as monitoring of flight during single assignments
- Improved engine startup procedure
- Allowed independent throttles via keyboard with AAL aircraft. (Select throttle(s) by pressing T-button followed by 1,2,3 and/or 4 on the main pad, then adjust with PgUp or PgDn keys as usual. Backspace or 0 key (full thrust or idle) activate all throttles automatically).
- Improved GPWS windshear detection algorithm to comply with FAR.
- Improved friction (braking action) on icy/snowy ground at taxi speeds.
- Added Slave Network Drivers for splitting visuals and/or remote engine instruments.
- Ensured compatibility with Windows XP.
- Push backs can now be aborted by stopping the airplane (apply park brakes), then press ALT-P again
Following Bugfixes have been made:
- fixed some distance calculation problems remaining from original ATP
- fixed problem introduced in AS2.03, preventing adjustment of ILS preference
- fixed problems with pushback in strong winds
- B744 Navigation Display no longer displays lateral and vertical forecasts in plan mode

- Fixed MD-83 Announciator loosing TAKOFF indication in pitch channel sometimes
- Fixed some possible problems with SOUND.DRV
- Fixed broken positioning in SMS, when distance and radial were used to reposition the airplane
- Fixed ND display (route line) in subLOGIC A320
- Fixed problems with altimeters in old subLOGIC aircraft produced by AAL aircraft not supplying all variables

- Fixed a problem with F/O announcing "takeoff power set"
- Fixed a problem introduced in 2.05 with throttle adjustments

- Updated airline.drv to support proper TDZ recognition with AS2 ILS
- Fixed a problem with steering tiller, that was always linked to rudder

- Several DMA related problems with Windows ME have been worked around, that caused garbled or missing sound. Similiar problems have been very infrequently (and temporarily only) reported with Win9x.
- Fixed a problem involving B744 engines and vertical tail causing an extraordinary "sail boat" effect at head/crosswinds around 40 degrees (aircraft start to roll forward)
- Fixed a problem in the MD-83 autopilot, when V/S speed was selected, then brought to vertical speed 0, ILS intercept armed, but autopilot did not intercept glideslope
- Autothrottle now engages in thrust mode, if activated with pitch channel in speed hold (open climb/descent)
- Corrected a typo in engine identifier for the B744: correct RB211-524 instead of RB211-254
- B744: Corrected VNAV announciators to display VNAV ALT and VNAV PTH indication correctly
- B744: Autobrakes no longer disarm on manual brakes when in RTO mode (only disarm on leaving ground)
- TCAS: Resolution Advisory improved - better arbitration who is to descend and who to climb (previously both airplanes could be sent into a descent)
- Included support for large ATC voice files
- Incorporated change of B747-400 Flightmodel (AAL) driver to support ATPUTIL
- Incorporated change of B747-350 flightmodel (ATP) to allow cruise up to FL410
- B744: fixed a bug in which takeoff power settings could be lost sometimes
- B744: fixed a bug in which FADEC could play up sometimes and not reach commanded power limits
- Worked around an issue in Windows XP, which prevented AS2 to run under XP
- Added strong recommendation to use VDMSound utility if using AS2 under Windows XP
- Fixed a problem in MD-83 HSI, which could cause AS2 to crash while banking
- Fixed a freeze (scenery displayed, instrument panel blank, AS2 stops responding) during launch of AS2, if Windows does not handle vertical retrace signal properly
- Fixed the "sleeping monitor" issue - a bug in Windows' VGA.SYS driver actually by adding "winvgafx.exe" program (use this program only and only if your monitor "goes to sleep" when running AS2!)
- Worked around a new problem in Windows XP (EMS pageframe at invalid segment on several machines) which garbled sounds
- Added support for WinXP SP2 version of vga.sys
